ABSTRACT

The analytical genre of review was evolved in Russia nearly 18th century. Film review of the genre appeared immediately after birth of cinema. It underwent changes over time. It is important to note that the review is one of the most complex analytical genres, as it should reflect all the hidden meanings in the work. But it is also important to remember about the objectivity of the assessment, since the review includes not only an assessment, but also a detailed analysis. The review is one of the key and significant genres of the analytical group of journalistic genres.

Keywords: film review, media text, media space, film criticism.

The review in the modern media space has also significantly changed. The popularity of user reviews has increased significantly, which cannot be said about professional reviews compiled by film critics and journalists. As part of our research, we will consider the main trends of modern film review.

The object of the study is the change in trends in the interest of the audience from 18 to 27 years old to film reviews. The subject of the study is a review as a modern media text. The purpose of our study is to identify the main trends in the development of audience preferences in the consumption of a certain type of content, namely film reviews. Research objectives: to determine the features of modern film censorship in the media space. Identify key features and the most popular type of reviews.

There are basically four types of film reviews in the modern media space. The first type is professional reviews from film critics, journalists, and art critics. These publications are aimed at highly specialized art history journals. To date, a less common type of reviews. The second type of advertising reviews, namely the review is written for the purpose of advertising the film to the audience. The third type of reviews is mass, intended for the mass audience. To explain to the viewer, the main plot features of the movie, to reveal hidden meanings. The fourth type is unprofessional reviews from viewers on Russian and foreign websites. Such a division proceeds from the main functions that reviews perform. V. A. Fomina identifies the following functions: advertising, entertainment and motivational [1]. However, there are other divisions of reviews into two main categories. Researcher E.Yu. Garanina characterizes the purpose of a mass review – as a publication designed for a wide audience, using slang, with an emphasis on socio-political issues, as well as a high degree of evaluation and correlation with the mass audience. The second type – art criticism – is reviews for professionals in the field of art, with an objective assessment, using special terminology and professional jargon. In-depth analysis, philosophical reflections and stylistic detachment are also characteristic [2].

However, researchers allocate an insignificant place to the analysis of non-professional publications in the Internet space. The modern audience, under the influence of information technology, relies less and less on professional reviews, preferring reviews left, for example, on the KinoPoisk resource. This is primarily due to the changing rhythm of modern life and the development of technology. Some are not interested in reading reviews at all, when choosing a film they prefer not to rely on "outside opinion" at all. As well as the popularity of announcements, it helps to reduce the popularity of three-dimensional analytical genres.

As part of the scientific work, a study of the audience aged 18 to 27 years, students of the Faculty of Philology was conducted. The table below shows a diagram that reveals the essence of the survey.

Based on a survey conducted among students of the Faculty of Philology in 140 respondents, the following results were obtained. The survey asked the following question: Do you read movie reviews? With answer options: yes, I read professional reviews; yes, I read only short reviews left on Kinopoisk, etc. (non-professional); I do not read reviews at all. As a result, the following results were obtained. The first answer options are 11% (16 people). The second option is 60% (84 people). The third option is 29% (40 people). It is worth noting that this study cannot fully reflect the main dynamics of changes. However, it helps to identify the main trend, the direction in which the development of film censorship is moving today. It is no coincidence that the choice of respondents fell on students of the humanities, creative direction. Since they are more inclined to analyze works. But as the survey results show, the young audience is turning less and less to professional reviews. Now the main trend in the development of the media text is simplicity and conciseness, as well as proximity to the philistine typology. The younger generation does not seek simplification, which is offered by a review written by the same user.

It is worth emphasizing that the user (non-professional review) has a number of negative features: excessive subjectivity, insufficient information content, as well as lack of knowledge about art history and cinema.
