ABSTRACT

This study examines the influence of parents on the choice of profession of graduates in Kazakhstan, paying special attention to key factors such as social considerations, cultural expectations and current trends in the labor market. It also addresses the difficulties that students face when agreeing with their parents ' preferences and offers solutions that contribute to their own choice of profession.

Keywords: profession, role parents, salary, factors.

In Kazakhstan, the choice of profession is often influenced by parents due to cultural traditions and their role in decision-making in families. Such participation reflects concerns about job stability, potential income, and social status associated with occupations. Parents want their children to be happy and good in life, and one of the factors that affect happiness and success is career choice.

The intervention of parents in the choice of their children's profession depends on several factors:

1. Decisions related to life experience. Parents can see from their experience or trends in society which professions will be more sustainable and successful for children. They want to ensure the financial security and stability of their children.

2. Social and cultural influence. In some societies, traditional professions such as doctors, lawyers, and teachers are considered prestigious and respected. Parents expect their children to choose these areas as it can bring social status to their family.

3. Taking care of children. Parents sometimes restrict their freedom of choice in order to protect their children from mistakes. They are aimed at ensuring the emotional and economic security of the child.

4. limited knowledge of the profession. Some parents do not have access or understanding of information about new industries in the market. Because of this, they offer traditional and familiar destinations.

5. Family traditions. In some families, a certain profession is passed down from generation to generation (for example, medicine or law). This leads to parents encouraging their children to continue this path.

As a result, such parental intervention can sometimes prevent a child from finding himself. Therefore, when choosing a profession, it is important to take into account the interests and abilities of the child. In order to provide professional guidance to children, it is necessary to have independent consultants and specific information about the requirements of the labor market.

It is very important that students choose their profession. This is because it directly affects their lives, aspects including their professional, social and personal development.

1. Consideration of personal interests and abilities. Each student has their own abilities and interests. By choosing the profession they want, they can reach their full potential and get job satisfaction.

2. Increase motivation. The profession chosen in accordance with the interest increases the motivation of students in the learning process. They strive to gain the knowledge they are interested in, which is directly relevant to their future, which increases their profitability.

3. Satisfaction with your profession in the future. People who choose the desired field will be happier in the workplace and more likely to achieve professional success. And under pressure from parents or society, the chosen profession often leads to dissatisfaction.

4. The opportunity to build a successful career. In order to succeed in the labor market, students must take into account their flexibility, interests and prospects of this profession when choosing a profession. In their chosen profession, they will be flexible and ready for new requirements.

5. Adapting to the changing world. In this rapidly changing era, students choose the professions that best match their strengths and market needs. And this will allow you to remain relevant and in-demand in the future.

Giving students the opportunity to choose their profession lays the foundation for their personal and professional development. Parents and teachers should support this process and try to guide students in the right direction.

When choosing a profession, parents should take into account several important factors. These factors play a big role in the child's future and directly affect his place and success in life. The following are the main aspects that parents pay attention to:

  • High demand in the labor market

Parents often need to choose in-demand and promising professions on the market. They strive to ensure stable employment and financial stability for their children. For example, the field of information technology, medicine, and business is popular and in demand today

  • Salary level

Many parents consider it important to choose high-income professions. This increases the overall well-being of the family and ensures that the child will not face financial problems in the future.

  • Reputation

For parents, the reputation of some professions seems to be high (for example, a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher). This affects how they direct their children into such professions. However, the child's right to choose must also be taken into account.

  • Cost and availability of training

Parents take into account the cost of vocational training and the possibility of financing it. Some parents are careful when choosing expensive educational institutions or professions that require a long period of study.

  • Changes in the country and the world

The development of modern technologies and innovations encourages parents to focus on professions that will not lose their relevance in the future (for example, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity). [5]

Conclusion

The study highlights the dual role of parents in Kazakhstan when it comes to choosing a profession for their children. Although parents strive to ensure the future of their children by focusing on stable, well-paid and socially prestigious professions, their participation can sometimes limit students' freedom and self-expression. Factors such as life experience, social and cultural norms, and knowledge of the labor market strongly influence parental guidance. However, these factors often overlap with traditional career paths, potentially overlooking new areas that could better match students' individual abilities and aspirations.

It is very important that students actively participate in career choice decisions in order to ensure that they match their interests and strengths, increase motivation, job satisfaction and achieve long-term success. A collaborative approach involving parents, educators, and professional counselors is necessary to bridge the generational gap and the information gap. By introducing students to the profession and giving them the opportunity to make informed choices, both personal growth and social progress can be achieved.
